St Lucia Sock - Alleenlopers
"Alleenloper" is an Afrikaans word meaning "Loner". Here you will find all the Loner skeins of St Lucia Sock! Each skein might have its own reason for being a loner - perhaps they got separated from their batch, perhaps they were too different, or perhaps they were just created unique and need their own special place in the spotlight!
Whatever the reason for being a loner, they are now available here for you to ponder over... Perhaps they are the perfect match for a colourwork project you're planning from in your stash, or match them with each other or another colourway in the shop. Each skein is special and unique, so you can always let them stand on their own and make a gorgeous one-skein project.
Yarn Base: St Lucia Sock
- 100% Fine SW Merino, with a single spun construction
- Sock/fingering weight
- 365 metres (400 yards) per 100g skein
- Recommended needle size: 2.25 - 3.25 mm (US 1-3)
All About the Base - St Lucia is a soft, plump yarn, with a very slight bloom. This fingering weight yarn is great for any next-to-skin wear, and is a wonderful choice for sweaters, tops, or cosy shawls. It is also lovely for hats! It really soaks up the colour beautifully, and colourways are often a little more intense on this base.
Care instructions - Even though this is a superwash yarn, it is always recommended to wash your hand-knits by hand to extend the life of your garment or item.
Hand wash gently in cool water with mild soap, and dry flat to maintain the shape.
Note: for darker, more intense colourways, there may be a little dye residue coming out in the first wash - this is normal and shouldn't affect your colours!
